London Kite Surfers Association

A welcoming community for kite surfers in and around London, with local sessions, social meetups, weekend beach trips, and practical community support.

🏄 Yes — you really can kitesurf from London

Many people come to drinks and say “I kitesurf but I left my gear at home because I didn’t think I could kite near London.” We always say the same thing: London is a fantastic place to kitesurf. Within two hours of central London you can ride on any wind direction and any tide level — from the legendary flat water at Uncle Tom’s to waves on the south coast, and spots with miles of waist-deep water just waiting to be enjoyed.

Yes, it’s colder than the tropics — but modern wetsuits are incredible, and a well-fitting suit with boots means you can kitesurf all year round. There are hundreds of keen kite surfers heading to the beach most weekends, and even in March we have had 20+ people at the same beach, riding together and meeting for food and drinks after. An amazing way to make new friends and enjoy a brilliant sport.
